LAND OF FIRE
A tale of destruction and hope. Land so different from what the human mind is accustomed to processing, taking away any anchor of reality and enforcing total surrender to the power of nature. Lanzarote was forever changed in 1730 by continuous volcanic eruptions for six years, swallowing a big part of the island along its inhabited towns and villages. In a brief moment, everything that existed before was gone forever. Even though the volcanoes are now classed as dormant, one can still feel the heat under the surface of Timanfaya. It is incredible to see how its residents have found a beautiful way to coexist with this powerful force of nature. Truly an inspiring landscape!
